Cloud computing

What does the term “cloud computing” mean?

Rather than having the software being installed on your computer, applications are embedded in your web browser, for example, Google Apps http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/business/index.html provides online applications that can be accessed using your web browser.

Google Apps does come under cloud computing but more specifically refers to software as a service, SaaS, as it is partially installed on the desktop and no browser is required.
Hosted CRM would be a good example of Cloud computing.
Exchange configured with HMC would also be a good example.
But a browser is not always needed and definably not a requirement for cloud computing..
But a great blog.
